According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray forward Barış Alper Yılmaz is being lined up for an almighty summer battle.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest since his performances in Euro 2024 and there were claims an offer came in from the English club last summer.
Haber Sarikirmizi have reported on comments Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has made to A Spor when quizzed about Galatasaray’s transfer actively in the last window.
The prominent Turkish journalist reiterated Nottingham Forest came in with a €20-25m offer for Yılmaz, and made it sound like they’d done so again in January.
“Nottingham Forest made an offer of €20+5m to Galatasaray for Barış Alper Yılmaz during the transfer window. Barış often receives offers,” said the journalist.
We covered reports from Turkey in January that Nottingham Forest had made an approach for Yılmaz but were told he wasn’t for sale. At the time it was claimed the Premier League side, along with Lazio, were probing the possibility of signing the player.
It’s looking likely he will leave Galatasaray in the summer; with claims today that Napoli are the latest club to show interest in the right winger. The Italian side will reportedly scout him tonight.
Yılmaz is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
