Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka has been offered to Arsenal and Tottenham by his agents, but their huge demands may have scuppered any move for him.
That’s according to Frankfurter Rundschau, who say the agents appear to have ‘lost touch with reality’ in their attempts to ‘make a killing’ on their client this summer.
Ndicka is out of contract with Frankfurt this summer, meaning he is free to sign a pre-contract with clubs around Europe for a free transfer in the summer.
He has subsequently been linked with several sides, including clubs in the Premier League, who are all eyeing up a potential bargain deal.
Frankfurter Rundschau cover that today and explain that while the German club would like to keep the defender, they know that is difficult as he is available on a free and his agent are hoping for a ‘tremendously warm windfall’.
However, that is proving more difficult for them to get than they imagined as those agents have ‘gambled’ and seemingly ‘lost touch with reality’ in the process.
They are offering their client all around Europe and the ‘interested parties’ have been growing by the day, with Arsenal and Tottenham among them.
The problem is that they are offering their client to these clubs at ‘lunar prices’ and some clubs have already pulled away from any proposal.
That’s because the agents have told the interested clubs they need a five year deal worth around €50m in total. That would be made up of an initial €15m payment to the player and an annual salary of a ‘good €7m.’
That’s a lot of money for a player who is supposed to be available on a free and the figure has already helped to ‘scare off’ quite a few of those who have forwards. As has the ‘brash behaviour’ of Ndicka’s agents.
Whether Arsenal and Tottenham are among those to have been scared off isn’t mentioned but it seems unlikely they would hear such a fee and not think twice.
It means Ndicka could end up missing out on a move, with it likely he will have to make a decision on whether those representing him are right for him.
At this moment in time, it appears as if they are not.
