Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has an offer on the table from Everton as he looks to leave his current club before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Everton will need to work hard to convince him as he would prefer a move to Italy.
The website explains that Tanganga, who had been targeted by Inter Milan, is now a target for Torino and they are ‘aiming straight’ at him.
They explain Tanganga has put Serie ‘at the top of his preferences’ but that has not stopped him receiving interest from the Premier League.
Everton are one of those to have put an offer ‘on the table’ for him, indicating they’ve stepped up their interest after it was reported earlier this month that they were keen.
Indeed, that followed a report the previous month that stated Everton were showing an interest in him alongside other Premier League clubs.
It seems they will have to work to convince him, though, as he would prefer to move to Italy should he leave Tottenham as planned.
Torino are currently pushing to reach an agreement with Spurs, and progress has been made in the last few hours, particularly as Tottenham have been open to the idea of a loan with the right to buy for some time.
Given Everton’s finances it is likely they’re chasing a similar deal and it appears they’ve put an offer on the table, but that is currently being placed to one side as Tanganga eyes a move to mainland Europe instead.
