Midfielder Marc Roca will leave Leeds United for Real Betis this summer as the two sides close in on a deal for him.
That’s according to El Desmarque, who say the ‘except for an unexpected last-minute twist’ the Spaniard will be joining Betis.
They explain that Roca has been targeted to replace players departing Manuel Pellegrini’s squad as he is an old desire of the club from previous transfer windows.
That is because there is a clause in his contract at Elland Road that states he can leave on loan to any club that pays his salary, without paying anything to Leeds.
That suits Betis perfectly as their own finances are tight and they don’t have a lot of money to spend on the reinforcements that Pellegrini wants.
Thus, the opportunity to sign Roca on such a deal is one they don’t want to pass up and there is an increased confidence he will join from Leeds at some point this summer.
They’re now working out that deal and the player ‘patiently awaits events’ to unfold, training for pre-season alone in a bid to be ready when he arrives at his new team.
