Since the Italian media started reporting the talks between Chelsea and Juventus for a deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic, we rarely saw an advancement in the negotiations.
Even though the main discussion was apparently the remaining amount that the Blues would need to pay for the swap, we now get to see there’s actually another major problem in the talks.
TuttoMercatoWeb features a story telling there’s a ‘strong braking’ in the talks between Juventus and Chelsea, as the clubs remain ‘very distant’ in the player’s price and, despite Lukaku’s wish to make the move, Vlahovic is ‘decidedly reluctant’ to do it.
The Serbian star reportedly considers the Blues’ project ‘as expensive as it’s nebulous’, and it sounds like that would be enough to kill the deal.
That’s why Lukaku is now rumoured to be more of a target for Tottenham Hotspur, while Juventus are set to go after targets for their attacker.
While it might seem weird for this to come out now, we must admit the Italian media have always pointed out that a move to Chelsea wasn’t always high on Vlahovic’s wishlist, with him far preferring the idea of Bayern Munich or Real Madrid over the Blues.
