Wolverhampton Wanderers are seen as the only club who could offer Valencia what they want for Goncalo Guedes before the window closes tomorrow.
That’s according to AS, who say Valencia are sticking to a €30m valuation of the Portuguese forward.
The newspaper explains that Guedes had been one that Peter Lim had chosen to help balance the books this summer because they were aware he could do a deal with Jorge Mendes.
It looked like a deal would be happening for much of the transfer window, but that has now changed, with both the player and Lim determined for him to stay.
That can obviously change as the window remains open and things can always develop quickly, but his main suitors are Wolves, and he does not see that move ‘with tender eyes’.
AS say they are perhaps the ‘only club’ who can pay what Valencia are asking for, with them determined to get €30m or completely block an exit.
Another issue for Wolves is that they are refusing to sell Adama Traore to Tottenham, which further works in Valencia’s interest.
The Spanish side’s refusal to sell is echoed by Super Deporte, who say that unless there is a ‘major surprise’, Guedes will not be leaving.
They insist there is no offer on the table for the player, and Valencia feel it would be wiser to use him this season, let him revalue himself and then look to sell.
There’s no mention of Wolves in their coverage, suggesting that for once, this Mendes client won’t be ending up at Molineux.
