Last week, claims from Spain stated Aston Villa have to first offload Diego Carlos before making an approach for Sevilla’s Loïc Badé in the winter market.

Carlos completed a permanent move to Fenerbahçe yesterday, but the Villans are still far away from reaching an agreement for Badé.

On Tuesday, Marca stated Aston Villa director Monchi could look for alternatives to the 24-year-old.

Earlier today, Vamos Mi Sevilla FC said the La Liga side need an ‘off-market’ fee to let the Frenchman leave. In other words, they are trying to put pressure on Unai Emery’s side by raising his price.

Mucho Deporte state there’s still a gap between the Villans and the Andalusian club over the centre-back’s valuation. The former have so far refused to meet the €30m price tag and are now said to be offering around €23m.

Sevilla paid €12m to buy him and need a better profit margin to improve their finances. This is needed to bring in a replacement for Badé.

Sevilla want to sell him for a ‘Premier rate’ and want Aston Villa, led by Monchi, to raise the offer.

Mucho Deporte state Badé is ‘not particularly enthusiastic’ over a move to Aston Villa even though earlier claims stated otherwise. Him not fighting for the move is presented as an important factor for Sevilla to stick to their demands.

It feels like the player is behaving normally while the negotiations are taking place in the background and the Sevilla media have assumed that means he’s not enthusiastic about the transfer.

The report ends by stating: ‘It will all be about money. The conversations continue. Monchi will have to stretch more.’

This shows Sevilla, led by Monchi’s successor Victor Orta, are trying to extract as much as possible from Aston Villa.
