Diego Carlos’ situation at Aston Villa is increasingly looking somewhat uncertain. Social media accounts related to the defender flirted with a return to Sevilla last week after a fake rumour appeared on Twitter, and then his entourage didn’t deny they were genuine when contacted by media close to the Spanish club.
That media has repeatedly reported it represents quite an awkward situation for Sevilla. Some of their fans are now expecting an effort to sign Carlos, but there’s no plans in place at the club to do so.
Diario de Sevilla report Carlos is ‘not comfortable’ at Aston Villa, although they make it very clear that as things stand Sevilla have absolutely no plans to sign him.
There’s ‘too many barriers to overcome’ and in the unlikely event a transfer or loan fee could be agreed with Unai Emery’s side, it’s insisted Carlos’ salary would be too big to cover even if the player also took a massive hit on it himself.
There’s no hope offered to Sevilla from the newspaper, yet perhaps a way this could be done is if Villa paid a huge chunk of the player’s wages on a loan and he also took a big pay cut.
Very unlikely, and the player’s camp are now being repeatedly told to curb the flirting.
