Chelsea’s Ola Aina spent the last season on loan at Hull City, making 44 appearances in the Championship.

After returning to Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old found out he wasn’t included in new manager Maurizo Sarri’s plans for this campaign, which is why he joined Torino on a season-long loan deal after penning a new deal with the Blues.

Italian website Calciomercato now claims the defender is at the Turin club because of the former Napoli manager, ‘precisely’ because Sarri rejected him last summer, which is why the west London club decided to send him on another loan spell.

As a part of the loan deal, Walter Mazzarri’s side have the option to make the deal permanent for €10m and the report explains that Torino are planning to use it and keep Aina at the club beyond this campaign, thanks to Sarri.

Having made 20 appearances in the league, the Nigerian is ‘one of the surprises’ of Serie A this season.

Aina can play as a right-back or left-back and had he been at Chelsea this season, he could have been a good back up in the fullback position.
