Even if players are heavily linked to big clubs during the summer window, they usually don’t speak about it, even after the rumours fade away.

But Sergej Milinkovic-Savic had a chance to talk a little about the Manchester United links from this summer. Speaking to the Italian press this Tuesday, he says it’s now time to put an end to the speculations.

He’s been interviewed by Espreso, and it’s Passione Inter who brings his quotes saying he didn’t really get mad with the rumours.

“The market in England is over, as is the story with United, I’m not angry with what was written, I was focused on preparation. I’m where I am and I don’t miss anything, I’m a Lazio player. I don’t think too much about the end of the market. My head is on the club with which I have a contract.”

Milinkovic-Savic was said to be one of Manchester United’s top targets for the midfield position this summer if Paul Pogba left, along with Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes, who was also involved in a big saga.

But it turned out that both players were considered to be too expensive, and the Red Devils ended up not signing any midfielders in the transfer window, failing to replace the likes of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in the centre of the pitch.
