Earlier on Thursday, we covered an article from Sport Bild that suggested everything between Liverpool and Ryan Gravenberch was happening very quickly.
This seemed to be linked with the desire from Bayern Munich to sign João Palhinha from Fulham, as the extra money from the Dutchman’s sale could be the difference.
Well, it appears that Liverpool are edging ever closer to getting the Dutchman from the Bundesliga side as Bild are reporting the player is ‘on the verge of a move’ to Anfield.
While he is currently still at Säberner Straße, the Bavarian side’s training complex and ‘not yet in England, it’s revealed that the midfielder ‘did not take part in training’ at 10.30am local time.
They add that Bayern Munich had ‘already expected an offer of almost €30m’ on Wednesday evening from Liverpool.
Jürgen Klopp is said to have ‘convinced’ Gravenberch that he would ‘fit perfectly’ into the system in place at Anfield, and the player himself ‘definitely wants to change’ clubs in order to get more minutes than he currently is in Germany.
We now have to wait and see whether a bid actually arrives from Liverpool for Gravenberch, but it is made very clear by Bild that Bayern will only let him go ‘if they get a replacement by the end of the transfer window’, which so happens to be 5pm UK time on Friday.
The clock is ticking…
