Timothy Castagne could look to leave Fulham in the January transfer window, as he struggles to get beyond Kenny Tete.

That’s at least according to DH. They speculate that Castagne may look towards the exit with the World Cup in mind.

They explain that Castagne is living in something of a ‘strange paradox’ at Craven Cottage at this moment in time. That’s because while he’s been one of the most used and most effective players for Belgium, he can’t get a look in for Fulham.

He’s hardly playing for Marco Silva’s side. That’s largely because Silva prefers Tete in the position, and an injury he’s still working to get over fully.

The feeling, at least for Belgium, is that Castagne can’t challenge that hierarchy established by the Fulham manager. That’s a potential problem for the defender, particularly if he wants to go to the World Cup next summer.

With that tournament in mind, his presence at Fulham could be called into a question in the January transfer window. They point out that he was already close to a transfer to Juventus in the summer.

Whether they’d be interested again in January isn’t clear. But there is a growing feeling Castagne will look at his options regardless.
