West Bromwich Albion and Hull City are battling to sign Lyon’s Rémy Descamps.
On Wednesday, Le Progrès reported the Championship duo’s interest in the goalkeeper. They also stated he’s on the verge of moving to England, where West Brom and Hull City are willing to offer regular minutes.
Earlier this season, an injury forced the 29-year-old to be out for over a month. He regained fitness in October but failed to return to the starting lineup since then.
L’Equipe back up West Brom and Hull City’s interest in the stopper and provides more updates.
They state the Frenchman could move to the UK in the winter market as he has two opportunities in England, West Brom and Hull City.
The newspaper makes no mention of the fee needed to take him away from the Ligue 1 side. He has 18 months left on his contract and Transfermarkt currently values him at €2m.
Descamps seems to be on his way to England but his preference between West Brom and Hull City is not clear yet.
The Tigers have a ban from registering new players in this window. They could still agree a deal for Descamps to arrive at Hull City next summer.
