Depending on who you believe, Daniele Rugani could either end up at Rennes or West Ham.
The French media have been reporting on Friday that the Ligue 1 side have reached an agreement with Juventus regarding the loan of the Italian centre-back, but Corriere Torino have a very different angle.
They explain ‘the negotiation with Valencia has cooled down’, and while Rennes and Newcastle (‘who put the best offer on the plate’) have ‘tried again’, it’s the Hammers that Rugani would prefer.
The newspaper write ‘the player would look favourably on a move to London from where West Ham tested the waters’.
That’s it, but it’s in line with their report from Thursday, which stated the Hammers were leading the race for the defender as David Moyes looks to bolster his squad ahead of what could be another tough season in the Premier League.
Their 4-0 drubbing of Wolverhampton Wanderers did leave a lot of hope behind it, but there’s plenty more games to play, and quality in depth will be needed.
Rugani would go a long way to helping that.
