Luka Jović’s struggles at Real Madrid have not put off Everton as they are in the picture to sign him in the summer. A week ago, Marca stated the striker is set to ‘pack his bags’, and the Merseyside club have moved to take him away from the La Liga side.

Earlier reports stated the Toffees looked at the 24-year-old in January, but AS claim there was no approach from the Premier League side in the winter market.

Karim Benzema missed his side’s 4-0 defeat to Barcelona and Jović was not even brought on the pitch during El Clasico, bringing him ‘back to his sad reality’. His situation could be worse next season, with the potential arrivals of Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.

The Serbia international didn’t want to leave Los Blancos in the last two windows, but that could change in the summer as he is looking for a new club.

Having struggled since arriving at the Bernabéu in 2019, AS state the frontman ‘needs to continue competing, feel with the confidence of the coach, to be able to perform’.

Having invested €60m to secure his services from Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Madrid still have €30m to amortise from the deal. They are looking at the same figure to cut ties with him in the next window. He earns €4.5m net per year and this seems to be a problem to find a new club.

If it’s impossible to earn €30m from Jović’s sale, the newspaper says Ancelotti’s side would be open to letting him go out on loan so that will help them save a large part of his salary.

Everton are in the mix to sign the player in the summer.

With Jović wanting to leave Real Madrid, a move to Goodison Park looks possible.
