In the last window, Bayern Munich were unable to sign Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah despite showing firm interest in him.
Sky Deutschland now state the Bundesliga winners haven’t forgotten about the 24-year-old, who can operate as a centre-back or on the right side of defence.
Mauricio Pochettino has left the defender out of his plans at Chelsea and he hasn’t made an appearance yet this season.
It’s claimed the player could leave the Blues in January and the Bavarian club will be in the mix to sign him.
According to Sky transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, the German champions’ interest in the defender ‘has definitely not cooled down’, and they’re attracted by his versatility. However, Sky add it’s ‘too early’ to start concrete negotiations for a potential deal.
Plettenberg took to X, formerly Twitter, to provide additional updates on this case. He says the player, who is ‘very likely’ to leave Chelsea, is ‘still keen’ to join Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The journalist claims contact with Bayern has ‘never been broken’ since the summer, but doesn’t make it clear if that’s between the two clubs or Chalobah and Bayern.
Chalobah played under Tuchel at the west London club and a move to the Allianz Arena would see him reunite with his former manager.
