It appears that Calvin Bassey’s transfer from Ajax Amsterdam is getting closer and closer following the two clubs reaching an agreement over the defender’s move.
Voetbal International bring a new set of updates on Monday, and reveal that the Nigeria international has not travelled with the Eredivisie side to South Germany ahead of their friendly against Anderlecht.
He has been given ‘space’ by Ajax to speak to Fulham about a potential transfer to Craven Cottage, and if the defender ‘comes to an agreement’ with the London side, then ‘only the formalities’ would be needed for the deal to go through.
The Dutch club have kept him out of the side that will play against their Belgian counterparts, allowing the player to sort out personal terms and avoid picking up any sort of injury.
This comes at a time when Fulham are struggling to get Benfica to agree a transfer for Morato, after seeing an offer of €25m rejected despite the player being very keen on a move to Craven Cottage.
Therefore, a transfer of Bassey seems far more likely at this moment in time.
