Manchester United have already reached an agreement with Lecce to sign Patrick Dorgu in the winter market.
On Friday, Dorgu was in the squad to face Parma, but didn’t come off the bench. Earlier that day, we covered claims from Italy which stated yesterday’s tie will be his fixture with Lecce.
It was also stated the left wing-back is scheduled to travel to England on Saturday to join Manchester United.
After yesterday’s league clash, Lecce manager Marco Giampaolo has confirmed, relayed by Sport Mediaset, the Denmark international is on his way to Manchester United.
“I think Dorgu will already be in Manchester tomorrow,” he said.
“A splendid boy, he gave us everything he had. At 20 you have this opportunity, maybe you also have other thoughts in your head. It didn’t seem right to me to play either for Lecce or for himself, if necessary, I would have used him, I thought about it, but the temptation was short-lived.”
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio brings an update on Saturday about Dorgu’s move to Old Trafford.
Di Marzio has posted a video on his Instagram page of Dorgu arriving at an Italian airport this morning. He claims the player left for Manchester to carry out medical tests and sign the contract with the Red Devils.
Dorgu is ‘ready to start a new adventure’ at Manchester United, who have agreed to pay €30m plus €7.5m bonuses to Lecce.
Sportitalia also share a video of Dorgu arriving at Lombary’s Milan Malpensa Airport. They add that his medical at Manchester United is ‘scheduled for the next few hours’
