Jaden Philogene has left Hull City’s training camp in Turkey to undergo a medical with Aston Villa and complete a return to the club.
That’s according to Sports Digitale and journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who reports that the two sides have reached an agreement for Philogene to return to Aston Villa.
Philogene has found himself being targeted by several Premier League sides this summer after his impressive performances for Hull City last season following a €5.83m move from Aston Villa.
At first it appeared that Everton had won the race for his signature before Ipswich Town then agreed a double deal with Hull City that would have seen them also signing defender Jacob Greaves.
Aston Villa were later thrown into the mix, though, as they had an option to match Ipswich’s £18m offer should they wish.
They had a buy-back option in the deal they agreed with Hull last summer but only had three days to match any offer that was made.
It seems they’ve now done that as Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reports that Philogene has left Hull’s training camp to travel back to England and undergo a medical with Aston Villa.
According to his information a deal between Hull and Villa has been completed and he will be returning to his former club this summer.
Sports Digitale accompany this report with an image of him at the airport, suitcase in hand, presumably earlier today when he caught his flight.
Either way he’s on his way to England to undergo a medical and sign a contract to make him an Aston Villa player once again.
