Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has reportedly given his final word after a few approaches from Argentine club Boca Juniors. The 29-year-old, according to Telam, wants to stay at Old Trafford and keep fighting for his place.

Romero reportedly rejected an offer of a six-month loan, where he would only play a few games as Boca Juniors’ number one and then return to Manchester United for next season.

Boca Juniors tried to convince him after quotes from Argentina manager Edgardo Bauza, who said the goalkeeper could lose his national team spot if he didn’t get any game time soon.

But it seems Romero is more interested in his club career. The first reports already said it wasn’t his will to return to South America, and that’s what he told club director Barros Schelotto, as reported by the website.

Having arrived at Manchester United as a free agent from Sampdoria in 2015, Romero has managed to make only 16 appearances for the club so far.
