Brighton & Hove Albion’s Mahmoud Dahoud has emerged as a new target for VfB Stuttgart late in the winter market.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the Bundesliga side are ‘pushing’ to sign him.
Brighton signed the midfielder on a free transfer last summer and he hasn’t cemented a place under Roberto De Zerbi so far, even though the Seagulls lost both Moisés Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.
The former Borussia Dortmund man has been restricted to 454 minutes from nine league games and hasn’t made an appearance for Brighton since their 1-1 draw against Burnley on December 9th.
Dahoud isn’t pleased with his situation and Berger says he’s open to returning to Germany in this window.
Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth is in talks with the player’s new agent, Armand Doorn, to ‘finalise’ a loan deal with a buying option. The journalist adds the Bundesliga side are also in discussions with Brighton, and the negotiations are ‘well advanced’.
More developments are awaited.
