Two days ago, 1908.nl reported Brighton & Hove Albion have made an offer to sign Mats Wieffer. It was also stated the Feyenoord player is keen on making a switch to the Premier League in the summer window.
A fresh report from 1908.nl brings the latest on the Seagulls’ pursuit of the 24-year-old, and their headline claims Brighton are pushing to sign him.
Within the report, it’s stated the Eredivisie side wouldn’t be able to stop the defensive midfielder’s exit after receiving ‘several offers’ from the English club.
AC Milan, who have shown interest in Wieffer, haven’t yet made a bid to the Dutch club. Brighton are currently the only ‘concrete candidate’ to try and secure his services.
The Netherlands international is ‘keen on a move’ to Brighton, and is waiting for the two clubs to carry out the negotiations.
At this moment in time, the Premier League side haven’t agreed a deal with Feyenoord, who have requested £30m to sanction his sale.
There’s still a gap between the clubs as the Premier League side are ‘several millions’ short of Feyenoord’s £30m demand. Despite the difference, the report says ‘things could happen quickly’, indicating that Brighton could wrap up this deal soon.
