Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich, the German media says.
Outlet Bild now features a story claiming the player is ‘about to jump’ to the Red Devils on deadline day.
It’s claimed that Sabitzer’s departure from Bayern Munich is ‘imminent’, as he already missed their training session on Tuesday.
Even though there are not many details about the talks between the Bundesliga side and Manchester United, it’s made very clear that the midfielder is about to make the move.
The Red Devils announced on Tuesday an injury to Christian Eriksen, who is sidelined for a few months. And with hours before the transfer deadline, the club went after a quick replacement.
Bild also points out the Dane’s absence as a reason for Manchester United to go after Sabitzer, claiming that this situation could give the Bayern Munich player a chance to right away find a starting place in Erik ten Hag’s side.
Previous reports from Germany had claimed Chelsea were also interested in Sabitzer, but it seems the Red Devils are about to win that competition.
