Diego Llorente has impressed for Real Betis since arriving at the club from Leeds United in the summer window.
The centre-back has started every fixture in all competitions this season. He’s made seven appearances and completed the full 90 minutes on six occasions.
Marca say the former Leeds man and Natan have formed a good partnership in the La Liga side’s defence.
The Whites signed the 31-year-old from Real Sociedad in 2020. During his time at Elland Road, Leeds allowed him to spend 18 months [from January 2023] on loan at AS Roma.
The Serie A side considered retaining him this season, but walked away from a deal. This allowed Manuel Pellegrini’s side to sign the Spaniard on a permanent transfer.
According to Marca, Llorente requested Real Betis speed up negotiations with Daniel Farke’s side because he wanted to arrive before the start of pre-season. He left Leeds and joined the Andalusian club on July 9th.
This has assisted his rapid adaptation at Real Betis. Marca add Llorente has helped the club and their supporters ‘minimise the painful departure’ Germán Pezzella.
The Argentine joined River Plate last month, and the website says he was the ‘true leader’ in Real Betis’ back line.
