FSV Mainz midfielder Tom Krauss is in England for talks with Luton Town and was left out of training on Tuesday for those talks.
That’s according to Burstadter Zeitung, who report that the 23-year-old is about to move from Mainz to England.
The newspaper reports that the defensive midfielder has become surplus to requirements at Mainz this summer, something which has become apparent across pre-season.
The German side have made it clear that he might be short on playing time this year and so Krauss is now facing an immediate exit.
According to their information, the 23-year-old already left for England on Monday to hold talks with Luton Town. The player was missing from training on Tuesday because of this season.
The belief is that a move to England could be ‘imminent’. However, at the moment, it is unclear whether he would be joining Luton on loan or on a permanent basis.
That is presumably being talked about between the two sides, who must be locked into negotiations if Krauss has been allowed to travel to England to speak to Luton.
That would suggest a deal is in the pipeline and he’s a name to keep a very close eye on in the coming days, perhaps even hours.
