Carlos Miguel hasn’t had the impact he will have wanted after leaving a trail of chaos behind when he walked out on Corinthians for Nottingham Forest.
The goalkeeper had signed for Corinthians in 2021 and had been a back-up to club legend Cássio.
To make it clear how much of a legend 37-year-old Cássio is at Corinthians, he’s played more than 500 games for the club and had been there for over a decade.
In the approach to the summer, Carlos Miguel was pushing for more game time, believing, being 26-years-of-age now, that his time had come.
So, Corinthians edged Cássio out of the door and he joined Cruzeiro. Then, what felt like just days later, Nottingham Forest moved in for Carlos Miguel, and the stopper’s camp decided they’d take advantage of the selling clause to leave and move to the Premier League.
Obviously, it didn’t go down very well.
Since moving to Nottingham Forest, the Brazilian hasn’t had a minute of Premier League football. He played against Newcastle United in the EFL Cup, but Forest were knocked out.
Brazil’s Bola Vip report Carlos Miguel is in ‘crisis’ since his move to England. It’s stated he was ‘promised’ the starting spot, and whilst that may be something of an exaggeration he’ll have certainly expected more than he’s been given so far.
Meanwhile, Corinthians are in the relegation zone, and Cássio’s Cruzeiro look down on them from eighth place, where the disposed legend has played every minute since he joined.
