Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has been the priority target for Manchester United for months now, but the Red Devils still haven’t managed to get the deal over the line.
The Bundesliga side have already turned down the Red Devils’ initial offer worth €100m for the England international, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants his side to bring in a new right winger before the window closes, and according to Calciomercato, United identified Juventus’ Douglas Costa as the ‘first alternative’ to Sancho.
It’s claimed the Premier League club were ready to enter into negotiations with the Serie A winners to sign the Brazilian.
However, a potential move has been dismissed because the 30-year-old ‘says no’ to leaving the Turin club.
As per the report, there’s no way to convince the former Bayern Munich man to ‘evaluate the proposal’ because he is determined to convince Andrea Pirlo to give him opportunities at Juve.
Costa’s refusal has forced United to look elsewhere, and Calciomercato states this is why the Old Trafford club have now turned their attention towards Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé.
