Player on holiday with his agent as he waits for transfer – West Ham ‘jackpot’ move only one mentioned

West Ham United’s chase for Vitória Guimarães star Jota Silva is today again highlighted by the Portuguese media.

Newspaper O Jogo now claim it’s the Hammers who ‘lead the race’ to take the winger this summer.

The outlet writes Vitória Guimarães can expect a ‘jackpot’ with his sale, as he’s the player with the highest market value in their squad.

West Ham are claimed to be in the ‘front line’ to sign him now, even though they know his contract with his club expires next year.

Jota is currently on holiday with his agent José Carlos, as they wait to see what happens in the transfer window.

Despite giving West Ham’s interest some big attention, O Jogo does not make it sound like there are advanced talks between Hammers and Vitória for the transfer. Just a very strong interest.

Jota’s market value is of €12m, although it’s liley more will have to be tabled to get the singing done. He’s protected by a €20m release clause, and the Portuguese media have already claimed it’s ‘unlikely‘ the Hammers will pay that much.
