Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sasa Kalajdzic has again hinted at how miserable he was at Molineux, sharing his delight at his move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The striker has been speaking to the German club’s official TV channel about his move, after joining Frankfurt on loan earlier this month.
He elected to return to the Bundesliga after something of a disastrous time with Wolves so far after joining them in an €18m deal in August 2022.
The plan was for him to be the new star striker but instead an injury picked up on his debut led to him spending the entirety of last season on the treatment table.
He returned ahead of this campaign but struggled to convince Gary O’Neil to hand him anything other than a substitutes role at best.
That led to his move from Wolves to Frankfurt, where he is now hoping to establish himself as a key player between now and the end of the season to ensure he is fit and firing for Austria at Euro 2024.
He’s regularly spoken about how happy he is to have secured the move and has continued that today, hinting how miserable he was at Wolves.
“I’m basically happy to play for a club and a team where you have the feeling that you’re really important. I have that feeling here,” he said.
“I want to be in the here and now and look from game to game. I’m looking forward to the second half of the season, I think we have great potential in the team. We also have players with great quality coming back.”
