On Tuesday, Kicker reported Werder Bremen’s Marvin Ducksch has said his goodbyes to his teammates ahead of his move to Birmingham City. They also stated he’s set to sign a three-year contract with the newly promoted Championship side.

Wednesday’s edition of Bild backs that up and adds that parties have an agreement in place for him to join Birmingham City.

The 31-year-old joined the Bundesliga club from Hannover 96 in 2021 and scored 54 goals and registered 40 assists from 134 games. His performances for the club saw him make debut for Germany in 2023.

Ducksch managed nine goals and 11 assists last season, but Bild now report he believes he wasn’t fully appreciated by Werder Bremen’s management and supporters. This has convinced him to change clubs in this window.

According to the report, several clubs, including PAOK FC, pursued the frontman, but he decided to accept a move to Birmingham City.

Bild states: ‘Ducksch is supposed to fire Birmingham into the Premier League; the club is determined to achieve promotion. He has already proven that he can do this.’

Chris Davies’ side are set to pay €2m to Werder Bremen and it can rise [via bonuses] if they secure promotion to the top flight.
