Rafa Mujica signed for Leeds United in July 2019, after Barcelona allowed the youngster’s contract to expire without a renewal offer.
The forward had been playing for Barcelona’s B team, but they had other options they wanted to bring through the ranks and that meant making room by allowing Mujica to head for the Camp Nou exit.
Leeds United took a chance and gave the player a three year contract, lasting until mid 2022.
He joined Extremadura for the 2019/20 season, yet that deal was cut short the following January, with Mujica then going to Villarreal’s B side. Back to Leeds this summer, he then went to Real Oviedo, again on loan for the season.
Managing just 34 minutes of LaLiga2 action this season, the 22-year-old hasn’t got off the bench since October, and the suggestion is he’ll be sent back in January to allow Oviedo to sign someone they’d use more.
What Leeds United and Victor Orta would then decide isn’t clear, however, fruitless loans don’t seem to be getting the young Spaniard anywhere.
