1. FC Koln’s Dejan Ljubičić has been left frustrated after he wasn’t able to secure a move to Leeds United, according to Bild.

The midfielder has less than a year left on his deal. Earlier this month, claims from Germany stated that he definitely wanted to join Leeds.

Daniel Farke’s side had tabled a €4m bid, before ending their pursuit of the 26-year-old, after people close to him got involved in the operation.

Bild takes a look at what will happen with the Austria international and Marvin Schwäbe at the second division German club.

The goalkeeper was keen on leaving in the recently concluded window. Koln were ready to sanction a move, but he wasn’t able to find a new club. With regards to the Austrian, Bild say his employer ‘blocked’ his request to change clubs.

It’s pointed out that Leeds offered €4m, while the German club wanted €7m. Koln head of football Thomas Kessler has revealed his side decided to hold on to Ljubičić due to lack of convincing offers.

“We don’t want to give up Dejo. We also made that clear. If the desire to change still arises and a club wants to sign him, they will of course have to pay a fair amount for it. So far there has been nothing that made us weak,” he said.

Bild now claim Ljubičić has to ‘come to terms’ over his failed move to Leeds and brace for a ‘tough year’ at Koln.
