Tottenham have made concrete advances to sign Santos’ Souza in the winter market.

The Brazilian club had earliery rejected Spurs’ initial €10m bid for the left-back. That didn’t put off the north London club, who returned with an offer worth around €15m.

This has allowed them to reach an agreement with Santos. Now the transfer is in the process stage, with agreements between all parties.

Santos start the new Brazilian season against Novorizontino this weekend. ESPN Brasil reported on Friday that Souza’s camp had requested they player be left out of the squad for Saturday’s clash.

Globo Esporte now cover the latest on this case and it’s positive for Tottenham.

Tottenham at putting things in writing stage

The reputed Brazilian publication report the 19-year-old won’t be in the squad to face Novorizontino later today. That’s because Santos have granted his wish as he’s very close to finalising his switch to the Premier League side.

Souza has already expressed his desire to join the Europa League winners. He’s now set to fly and complete his move to Tottenham.

Globo claim Santos are waiting for Tottenham to put that €15m on paper and then everyone can start filing the documents they need to go through. There shouldn’t be an issue considering an agreement is in place between the clubs.
