Crystal Palace are finally going to solve their centre-back problems this week.
Joachim Andersen’s departure and Marc Guehi’s potential exit could leave Palace with a shortage of centre-back options but they’re trying to be prepared.
Their move for Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix has gained momentum and it could close quickly.
Fabrice Hawkins has reported that the Frenchman has given the ‘green light’ for the Crystal Palace move and that had already arrived from Wolfsburg, who accepted the Eagles’ offer.
The fee in question is €20m and the likelihood is that Lacroix will travel to London today to undergo his Palace medical. Everything seems in order for the move to conclude before deadline day.
We previously covered Florian Plettenberg’s claim that personal terms between Palace and the defender were agreed some days ago.
It was reported that the 24-year-old was keen on the move and wanted to work under Oliver Glasner.
Lacroix was not in Wolfsburg’s squad for their Bundesliga opener against Bayern Munich and that was a huge sign that an exit was coming.
