West Ham United are trying to beat Juventus in the race for OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
The defender has been favouring a move to the Serie A side, and they have been trying to agree a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain set conditions are met.
This hasn’t pleased the Ligue 1 side, while West Ham have ‘forcefully entered’ the scene for the 24-year-old, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The journalist says the Hammers are willing to invest €40m to buy the defender and are pushing to convince him to join them. He adds Todibo, who will have the final say, seems ‘inclined to accept’ West Ham’s offer.
Sport Mediaset state Julen Lopetegui’s side have offered €40m and it has been accepted by Nice. They are in a ‘hurry to close the deal’ and are waiting for his final decision.
The report says the Premier League side want to close the deal on Friday and are ‘pushing hard’ to receive the France international’s approval.
He’s been keen on joining Juve and Sport Mediaset ask whether he’ll maintain the same stance or be convinced to sign for the English club.
Over in France, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna claims Todibo has ‘decided to join’ West Ham. He adds Lopetegui’s side, who already have an agreement with Nice, are now working to reach a total agreement with the player.
Aouna further states Juventus are out of the race, unless there’s a last-minute twist to this case.
