Valencia believe Giorgi Mamardashvili has ‘changed his mind’ in order to join Liverpool this summer, throwing his previous stances in the bin for a chance to join the Reds.

That’s according to Superdeporte, who cover the impending transfer today and continue the developing idea that Valencia have been left a little perplexed by a sudden change of ideas from the Georgian.

They report that Liverpool’s proposal for a long-term contract has seduced Mamardashvili, so much so that he’s accepted the idea of first going on loan to Bournemouth.

According to the newspaper a deal for the goalkeeper is heating up as the hours go by, with Liverpool already in agreement with the player on a long-term contract worth €4m per year.

Mamardashvili is keen on the switch and even ‘looking favourably’ on the roadmap which has been presented to him, which involves first going to Bournemouth to acclimatise to English football.

Such a move is seen as an abrupt change in stance from the goalkeeper, who, alongside his entourage, has been insisting behind the scenes that he would not leave for a team who would have him as a substitute or for one that wasn’t competing for European football.

The first premise remains but he’s ‘changed his mind’ regarding the second and accepted the move to Bournemouth for this season, even though they finished 12th last season.

A deal still needs to be struck with Valencia, who continue to insist that Liverpool are far from their request of €40m, an asking price they’re sticking to as various amounts will head to other parties and reduce how much they receive.

The newspaper reports that both parties ‘seem destined’ to reach an agreement somewhere in the middle, but that’s yet to happen, even with Mamardashvili keen to conclude things.
