AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze was linked with a move to Fulham quite late in the January transfer window.

The transfer didn’t materialise and some background into the situation of the Nigerian winger has been provided by MilanNews’ Antonio Vitiello.

The journalist states that Chukwueze had ‘almost packed his bags’ to join Fulham in the last few days of the winter window.

The transfer didn’t go through because there wasn’t enough time left and as a result, the wide player stayed at AC Milan even if he was considered a sellable entity back then.

The 25-year-old has scored two goals for the Rossoneri since the failed transfer to Fulham but the belief is that he will be up for sale in the summer once again.

Sergio Conceicao isn’t fully convinced by his abilities and the club believe that he has been given enough time to make a mark at the San Siro, but has failed. He has also fallen firmly behind Christian Pulisic in the pecking order.

It remains to be seen if Marco Silva’s side come back in for the Nigeria international in the summer. If they do, they could have a decent chance of signing him.
