Since Raphinha left Leeds United for Barcelona there’s been repeat articles in the Catalan media explaining what a flop he’s been.

The Brazilian rejected offers from Premier League clubs, which would have earned more money for the Whites, because he wanted to follow his Blaugrana dream.

That didn’t work out at the start, with Raphinha only wanting to play on the right, and facing competition from Ousmane Dembele there.

Part of the reason Barcelona pushed for a deal with Leeds United is that they half expected Dembele to be leaving the Camp Nou at the end o his contract last year.

That didn’t happen, making things harder for Raphinha. An injury to the Frenchman has helped, and AS report he’s going through a period of ‘thunder’ form… which is a good thing.

Even so, it’s made clear that once Dembele is fit again then the battle will be back on, and Xavi Hernandez is a big fan of Raphinha’s rival.

AS state it’s unlikely the two will continue more a single season as competition to each other, suggesting one could go next summer.

Maybe on for Leeds United to keep an eye on.
