Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires at the end of this season and he’s been repeatedly linked to Real Madrid.

The right-back could leave Anfield next year and that has seen the Reds search the market for his replacement.

Liverpool have identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong as an option and journalist Sacha Tavolieri, writing in his column for Sky Sport CH, provides the latest.

The 23-year-old mainly operates as a right wing-back for the Bundesliga winners and has managed two goals and seven assists from 19 games this season.

Tavolieri claims he has qualities that fits what Liverpool are looking for in the market and could further improve under Arne Slot if the Premier League side were to sign him.

The journalist states the Merseyside club have been in regular contacts with Frimpong’s entourage for several weeks. He has also found out from a ‘reliable source’ that the player would have already given his approval to Liverpool.

At this moment in time, the Premier League side haven’t sent an official proposal to Bayer Leverkusen.

Tavolieri adds the good relationship between the two clubs could help Liverpool secure a deal with Xabi Alonso’s side for the Netherlands international. This would be possible if the Reds were to meet German club’s request of €60m.
