There’s a lot of talk in Italy about West Ham United’s intentions to bring Denis Zakaria back to the Premier League after his spell at Chelsea.

The Switzerland international would be coming in to help fill the gap left by the sale of Declan Rice, and a move was said to have been made.

It was said on Thursday that West Ham had made the first offer to Juventus, which was a loan deal with an obligation to buy at €18m, and Corriere dello Sport bring their information on Friday.

They state the first offer for Zakaria from the Hammers was ‘considered low’, as the Turin side do not want to go below their €25m asking price.

Meanwhile, West Ham are floating ‘more towards €15m than towards €20m’.

Therefore, a new head to head will be needed to try and diminish the distance between the two sides, and the ‘game is not over’.

Tuttosport also have a bit of information, and claim that the money offered by West Ham for Zakaria was €18m + €3m in bonuses, but there was still work to be done to figure out whether that would be a full transfer now or a loan with an either option or obligation to buy.

Down his end, the midfielder ‘gave a favourable opinion’ to the deal with the Hammers, as he is ‘comforted by the idea of a five-year contract’ with wages similar to the ones he is currently getting at Juventus.
