After a summer of being linked with around half the clubs in the Premier League, André’s agents and Fluminense have finally landed on the same page at the same time and agreed the midfielder will be going to Wolves.
The Brazilians hadn’t been in any rush to sell the midfielder for some months, continually hoping they could push the price a little higher or that a big spending club would come and match their biggest financial desires.
Over the past week, reality has dawned on Fluminense and that no doubt helped Wolves agree a deal.
Globo Esporte report the midfielder visited his club’s training ground on Thursday morning, so he could say his goodbyes to teammates and staff. He ‘cried a lot’ and was emotional when parting with players, some of whom he’s known since he was a child.
Wolves are paying €22m plus a potential further €3m in bonus payments.
Fulham had offered €25m weeks ago, only for Fluminense to make a counterproposal of €30m. However, the London club didn’t reply, and the Brazilians went chasing after their interest, only to find out it had gone.
At the start of the summer it was thought €40m was possible, but the transfer hasn’t been handled the wisest way.
This is all proven to be to Wolves’ benefit.
