Lyon are behind Fulham in the race to sign West Ham United’s Issa Diop.

The Ligue 1 side were keen to take the defender away from the Hammers, but they will find it difficult because of the Cottagers’ interest.

According to Foot Mercato, Fulham have already made ‘two offers’ to acquire the 25-year-old’s signature in the summer window.

Their first offer was worth around €12m and this was quickly rejected by West Ham. Marco Silva’s side then raised their proposal to €15m. The report adds the two clubs have not yet found an agreement, after Fulham made the improved offer.

Although the latest offer seems to be what David Moyes’ side were hoping to collect for the centre-back, Foot Mercato state West Ham and Fulham have not been able to discuss the bonuses related to the operation. The two clubs continue to negotiate.

Le Parisien journalist Benjamin Quarez took to Twitter to state Diop is ‘fast approaching’ Fulham. He further adds the Frenchman should commit to the newly promoted Premier League side in the ‘next few days’, once all the finer details of the transfer are sorted out.
