With Raphinha seemingly on his way out from Leeds United, the Elland Road side have been looking around for an adequate replacement.
One of the names pushed was that of Cody Gakpo, but it appears the Dutchman, currently at PSV Eindhoven either was too expensive or didn’t fully fit what Jesse Marsch wanted.
Instead, Leeds have gone for Luis Sinisterra, according to De Telegraaf in the Netherlands, who claim the Colombian ‘is going to shatter the record of an outgoing transfer at Feyenoord’.
They make it clear he is ‘covered by the English Premier League club’ and ‘is in extensive negotiations’ with their board regarding a move to Elland Road.
While ‘no one at Feyenoord wants to comment on the developments’, it’s stated that the Yorkshire side ‘are busy finalising a deal’, knowing for a long time they were going to sell Raphinha.
De Telegraaf claim ‘Leeds are aware that Sinisterra will have to cost between €20-30m and it is inconceivable that Feyenoord will be satisfied with €20m’.
Everton are also said to be in the race, needing a replacement for Richarlison, ‘but at the moment, it looks like Leeds United will become Sinisterra’s new club and Feyenoord will make the biggest transfer sale in their history’.
While the price is a bit vague here, 1908.nl took to Twitter to say the ‘first sounds’ they have heard is that the offer is €26m including bonuses.
