Hadi Sacko’s move to Las Palmas looks like a good one for him.

The club were relegated last season but there’s optimism around the place ahead of the new campaign and, on top of that, he’ll get year round Canary Island sunshine.

Media closest to Las Palmas first reported the move and even from the start it was explained the loan came about because of a growing good relationship with Leeds United.

Having played a friendly last weekend, the two clubs have been in talks about various things for months, and at some point Sacko was brought into the conversation.

The 24 year old has spoken about his move and, from his comments, it would appear Victor Orta played a big role in building the transfer.

Spanish newspaper AS quote Sacko as saying: “Two weeks ago they contacted me through the sports director of Leeds. Las Palmas was interested in me and that greatly influenced the decision. I didn’t want to give a quick answer, but seeing the team last weekend, that’s when I decided.”

That sounds like a little bit of new club PR, because given the details of the move were published on Sunday it must have been agreed before the match.

The attacker believes he can help Las Palmas with their counterattacking style of football, and is eager to show that his pace will be beneficial.

Asked why he didn’t feature so much last season, Sacko explained: “I had an injury that left me out for a month and a half, and on the way back the team were doing very well.”
