In the past few weeks, we’ve been seeing reports from Portugal claiming Nottingham Forest are struggling to sign Braga goalkeeper Matheus, as two offers had already been turned out by his club.
Now it turns out that as the Brazilian media today writes about the 31-year-old, Torcedores claim there are actually two other Premier League clubs who are competing for this signing.
Those are AFC Bournemouth and Everton.
The story’s focus is mostly on Nottingham Forest, explaining the Reds chase for the goalkeeper, despite not giving any details on the bids which were reported by the Portuguese media.
Then they add that the Tricky Trees have competition from Bournemouth and Everton, who already made approaches for Matheus.
The good news for Nottingham Forest is that the player ‘seems inclined’ to accept the move to the City Ground instead.
Now since this story doesn’t bring details of the negotiations with Braga, we should wait and see if Nottingham Forest will really be capable of finding a deal, as it’s been reported that offers worth €4.5m and €6m were turned down by the Portuguese club.
If the Reds continue to struggle, perhaps Bournemouth and Everton still stand a chance.
