Two days ago, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Leeds United are chasing Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno.

The Italian journalist also stated Marcelo Bielsa would prefer to have the 29-year-old for the Whites’ first game of the new season against Liverpool.

Super Deporte have relayed Di Marzio’s claims about Leeds’ interest in Rodrigo, and they also provide the La Liga club’s stance on the forward.

Valencia, who are in a financial turmoil, need to raise funds to resolve the economic crisis.

Rodrigo finished last season with seven goals and 11 assists in all competitions, and only four of those goals came in the league.

Valencia have made the attacker available in the transfer market due to his relative poor performance and the club’s financial crisis.

It’s claimed the Spain international is ‘expected to leave the club in the coming weeks’, along with goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

Rodrigo’s ‘market value has been declining considerably during the season’. A year ago, Atlético Madrid came close to paying his €60m asking price and Barcelona were ready to offer half of that for him in January.

According to the report, the figures that are mentioned for Rodrigo range between €25m and €30m.

Leeds may face competition because Super Deporte state the player is also followed by Atlético Madrid.
