Michaël Cuisance is expected in England on Wednesday to have a medical with Leeds United, reports Telefoot’s Julien Maynard on Tuesday evening.

FootMercato first linked the midfielder with Marcelo Bielsa’s side over a week ago, and those claims were initially dismissed in Germany. That’s because the Bayern squad have lost Thiago Alcantara this summer and have been expected to also see the back of Javi Martinez.

Such a situation could have left Hansi Flick short in midfield if his squad also suffered injury problems. Indeed, the manager said earlier today that Cuisance was still in his squad for tomorrow’s match against Borussia Dortmund.

He certainly won’t be available if he’s travelled to England to complete his move to Leeds United, and Flick will expect his club to bring their own reinforcements in soon.

Maynard states Bielsa’s project convinced Cuisance, and Bayern are set to get nearly €20m. There has been talk elsewhere of a buyback option for the Bundesliga club, which isn’t mentioned in this specific update.
