A positive scenario seems to be starting to show up in Manchester United’s pursuit for Pau Torres, regardless of Tottenham Hotspur’s competition for the defender.

On Tuesday morning, Spanish newspaper El Periódico Meditarráneo said that the player’s agents plan to travel to Manchester this week to negotiate contract details with the Red Devils.

Their trip is said to be conditioned on Manchester United reaching an agreement with Villarreal, with the Old Trafford club willing to spend as much as €50m on the signing.

Now as Cadena Ser comes up with a story saying Torres is finally ready to leave Spain, despite turning down offers last summer, it’s now claimed that the Red Devils may indeed have an advantage in the race for him.

Manchester United and Tottenham are willing to spend €50m on Torres. Still, ‘it seems’ the player would rather bet on a move to Old Trafford.

‘The operation is not closed, but it has been discussed and negotiated, and for this reason, the footballer’s representatives do not rule out travelling to England in the next few days in order to negotiate Pau Torres’ future contract with the Red Devils,’ Cadena SER says.

So with the same information being put out by different outlets, this pursuit is starting to get very interesting for Erik ten Hag’s side.
