That’s Davinson Sánchez, who, following a few years of ups and downs, now has the chance to win a big title for his country.

Newspaper El Heraldo shares a story claiming this tournament has been ‘sweet revenge’ for the centre-back, who left Tottenham for Galatasaray last year.

It’s said Sanchez managed to recover his football in Turkey, and has now been managing to be a ‘key player’ for Colombia, who had big challenges against the likes of Brazil and Uruguay.

El Heraldo recalls the defender’s tough times at Tottenham, especially the episode when he was brought on and off in the same game by Cristian Stellini, with resulted in some tears once he got back to the bench. That’s seen as his lowest moment at Tottenham, which led him to his departure.

With Sanchez now regularly playing for Galatasaray, it’s said his form with the Colombian national team could also give him ‘another life to his career’.

There’s recently been talk of a return to the Premier League for the defender and his career is certainly in a better place than it was not so long ago.
