The Portuguese media continues to react to the rumours that are linking Orkun Kökçü to Liverpool. Today, it’s A Bola who feature a story on the situation.

Taking the recent claims from the Turkish and English media, the outlet doesn’t seem to have any fresh information on the Reds’ interest in the midfielder.

The newspaper, however, details the good relationship between Liverpool’s new boss Arne Slot and the player, explaining that the 23-year-old is the coach’s ‘fetish’.

A Bola also points out that in case the Reds actually make a move for Kökçü, it won’t be easy to take him to Anfield this summer.

Benfica broke a club record when paying €25m plus €5m in bonuses to sign the midfielder last summer. And despite his ups and downs, he only really played in his best position in the past few games, when he actually managed to have some good appearances, scoring four times in their last six league matches.

With him well protected by a €150m release clause, the Eagles are set to demand €45m for his departure. And since Rafa Silva has just left the club, they have another reason to be tough in any negotiations with Liverpool.

So the Reds would need a big effort to fulfil Slot’s wish.
